Tuesday Update: D. Puckis Reporting

Last Saturday, Grabbag loaded up the truck, secured the tarp, and drove to Tallahassee. Rabbit, once of the Fake Life zine, booked us at a house party hosted by one of his friends. We set up in the driveway under a party tent. One noise complaint later, we toned it down for the second set. Second set? Yeah, we traded instruments and did our best jam band imitation, followed by a few classic rock cover songs. Versatile? Maybe. Crowd pleasing? Usually. Cheesing? Never. Flexing? Always. Our gracious host sent us home with food and beer. Thanks, Tallahassee!

Tallahassee and Grabbag – D. Puckis Reporting

Grabbag returns to Tallahassee this weekend for an afternoon backyard party with the FAKE LIFE crew. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve been to Tallahassee and it’s been even more years since Scooter and I lived there for a year. I wonder if the memories of Leon County Jail still reverberate in Scooter’s mind. After the cops drove him away, I called the jail all night until they finally told me they set bail at $500. I had that shit raised up by 8 AM, thanks to Rico and DJ Blaze. The three of us hopped in the DDT car (1980s Chevy Celebrity with big gangster letters in the rear window, a total cop magnet) and rode on down to the lock-up. I started waiving the money in the cops’ face and demanding Scooter’s release. They balked. They disappeared. Then they just let old Scooter out without bail. He looked pretty rough. We got home and he slept for the rest of the day.

I am looking to start a Christian Band to praise God with talent an dmusic, afterall he gave it to us. So I have been playing guitar for 3 years now and I have always wanted to start a band. So I need people who are deeply in love with God and wanna give back to him. I need a rhythm guitarist, a drummer and a bassist and either a fmeal or male vocalist between 13 and 18 years of age.

So I went up to my local record store on a mission to find some new Florida bands to pummel and belittle on my website.(jk, kind of.) While scourging through the dregs in the new shit bin. The smell of fresh spray paint caught my nostril. Below me stood a perfectly crafted self made CD EP. It had a excellent Xeroxed punk paper cover. Which was slyly wrapped around a sloppily spray painted CD. I wouldn’t have thought twice about it until I noticed this bands address. They are from Waldo, FL.  HOLY FUCK!

I am sick of hearing stupid girls go on about how big their boyfriends dicks are when all they have to compare it to is porn and the 2-3 guys they’ve fucked (girls that have been with more dudes than that know better). So I guess the whole joke for this release is that although these are 4 different bands. They are all made up of some small select hipster frat crew of bro-hymns. Hence “incestuous”. But upon further inspection. The 4 bands are made up of 9 dudes. I guess that’s incestuous. I was thinking even less people, but who am I to question shit.  Wouldn’t it be a lot cooler if all these Orlando bands with the HORSEBITES artwork were all just a single band doing some Malcolm Mclaren type shit. Fucking with us all. Well see who gets the last laugh. Who knows? Maybe Richard Minino doesn’t even really exist………
